Office Career Training

Student applying for the September 2010 intake of the ABT program in Nanaimo are currently waitlisted. The next intake will be February 14, 2011.

The following 10-month programs have seats available for the September 2010 intake of the Applied Business Technology Program (aka Office Administration) in Nanaimo:

  • Administrative Assistant
  • Accounting Assistant (aka bookkeeper)
  • Legal Administrative Assistant (call for availability)

If you are interested in taking any one of these programs, please submit your application to the Admissions Department as soon as you can. Applications will be accepted until all seats are full.

Please note that all programs are subject to enrolment. A low enrolment may be cause for cancelling a particular specialty. Every effort will be made to accommodate students in this circumstance.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The 10-month program is offered in two 5-month parts, Level I (Office Assistant) and Level II (Specialty).

All students enter the program at Level I (Office Assistant) and are asked to specify which specialty they wish to continue on in at the end of Level I. Students must meet the minimum requirements of their specialty to continue to Level II and their chosen specialty. If there are more than 20 students wanting a particular specialty, all applicants are placed in order based on grades, attendance, and the top 20 students will continue in the specialty.

Meeting minimum requirements at the end of Level I does not mean that a student will continue in their preferred specialty.
