HOURS OF OPERATION

 

Financial Aid & Awards is open from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday

 

2012/2013 Student Loan applications for programs starting between August 1, 2012 and July 31, 2013, are available on-line at: StudentAid BC

 

2013/2014 Student Loan applications for programs starting after August 1, 2013 will be available in early June at StudentAid BC.

 

ABE Students: Applications for funding through the Adult Basic Education Student Assistance (ABESAP) program are now available on-line at: 2013/2014 ABESAP Application

If you need financial assistance, please print the application, complete it and take to the Financial Aid & Awards Office.

 

NOTE: Effective September 1, 2011 the course load requirement to qualify for VIU Scholarships has been changed to 80% per semester (unless otherwise specified in the award criteria).

Irving K. Barber Scholarships

 

The Irving K. Barber British Columbia Scholarship Society supports post-secondary education by providing scholarships for students attending public post-secondary institutions. The current awards available can be viewed Irving K. Barber Scholarships

 

 
Following is a list of when our VIU Applications will be available on-line.

 

Scholarships & Awards:

 

VIU Students who will be enrolled in both Fall 2013 & Spring 2014 semesters
  • November 1, 2013 (deadline January 15, 2014)
  • February 1, 2014 (deadline February 28, 2014) * Only for students who will be attending a Study Abroad program in 2014
  • March 1, 2014 (deadline April 30, 2014)
Students who will be entering VIU for the first time in the Fall 2013 semester
  • January 15, 2013 (deadline March 15, 2013)

 

Bursaries:

 

VIU Students who will be enrolled in both Fall 2013 & Spring 2014 semesters
  • Tuition Bursary - July 1, 2013 (deadline October 31, 2013)
  • General Bursary - November 1, 2013 (deadline January 31, 2014)
 

Due to the downturn in the economy, some awards listed on our website may be unavailable at this time, and will therefore not be offered.
