Letter of Agreement

Sick Leave Replacement Pay
Economics Department Spring 2004

This Letter will confirm, on a without prejudice basis, the method of payment used for University-College Professors Keith Jensen, Mark Loken, Raimo Marttala and Daniel Simons, to replace their colleague, Chris McDonnell, who was on an unplanned, extended sick leave.

The replacement faculty members will be paid a proportion of their pro rata overload rate (per Article 10. 3.1a) based on the portion of the section taught. The portion of the section will be determined by the number of weeks of classes and exams covered by the replacement instructor divided by 15 (the normal number of weeks of classes and exams).

Total payment will be determined as follows:

(no. of pay periods January 1 to June 30, 2004)

The replacement instructors were responsible for all remaining aspects of the courses including the assignment of final grades.
