Reporting to the Director, International Marketing, Recruitment and Business Development, this position will assist with the implementation of the annual international Marketing Plan; recruits students and educational agents abroad; disseminates promotional materials; represent Vancouver Island University and Malaspina High School both in Canada and abroad at education fairs, government ministries, educational institutions and seminars.
The coordinator will be responsible for recruitment activities in a designated number of countries, including creating and implementing annual recruitment plans. Assist in creation, review, revision and preparation of international promotional and display materials. Social Media marketing will be an important aspect of the coordinator's duties.
Assist in researching new markets for the purpose of individual student and group recruitment initiatives. Support VIU Regional Representatives and agents abroad in relation to student recruitment activities. Attend education fairs abroad and conduct presentations on behalf of Vancouver Island University. Maintain awareness of immigration policies and procedures and disseminate information to the Director.
Represent Vancouver Island University at meetings overseas with government ministries, educational institutions and Canadian Embassy staff. Identify issues, requests and recommendations to the Director of International Marketing from contacts, representatives and institutions abroad. Maintain familiarity with current activities, cost, etc. of competitor institutions and countries.
Assist the Director with international initiatives and training contracts. Provide supervisory and management support when the Director is away from the office.
Position requires extensive recruitment travel and preparation of recruitment reports. Up to 50% of the recruiter's time could be spent overseas.
Bachelor's Degree in business or related field from an appropriately accredited institution. One to three years experience in a cross-cultural environment which includes experience in the development and production of marketing materials in various formats (e.g., print, web, social media) and experience in post-secondary international educational marketing. Familiarity with post secondary education in Canada and abroad.|
