Teach classes in theory and practice of hairdressing following prescribed curriculum. Work in a team environment as part of the hairdressing faculty group. Maintain and develop curriculum as required.|

Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and department committees; meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.|
BC Hairdressing licence. Provincial Instructor Diploma (if in progress, maximum two years to complete from date of hire) from an appropriately accredited institution. Five years recent related experience. Proficiency in all skill areas. Demonstrated superior practical skills. Pivot point training experience. Excellent interpersonal skills. Computer literacy.
Proven participation in trade-related professional development involving new technologies, new industry/instructional developments and trends, and supervisory experience. Proven ability in classroom management. Excellent written and oral communication skills. A high level of energy and enthusiasm. Proven positive interpersonal skills in dealing with students, staff, faculty and administration.
Sensitivity to the needs of a wide variety of adult students returning to education. Ability to work as part of a team comprised of instructors, administrators and support staff. Familiarity with MS Office computer applications appropriate to an educational setting. The successful applicant will be responsive to diverse cultural and academic backgrounds and learning styles.
Experience owning or operating a salon. Proven instructional experience.|
