ABE requires part-time instructor(s) for the 2013-2014 academic year for some or all of the courses outlined below. Duties include: individual and group instruction in a multi-level learning centre environment; preparation of course materials; development of curriculum; student support; student evaluation, grading and record keeping; liaison with student advisors; participation as an active member of the instructional team; and participation in staff meetings and committees as required.

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning, and student success through ongoing professional training, subject currency, and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and department committees; meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution. Proven skill and experience teaching adults; recent experience teaching relevant subjects and levels. Experience and sensitivity in working with adult learners who have not been successful in school. Ability to use a wide range of teaching strategies to accommodate the needs of different learners. Skills in development of course materials and skill in providing individualized instruction in a group setting. Demonstrated interpersonal skills working with students, instructors, student support services, staff and administration as a team member. Proven organizational skills.
Successful candidates will be responsive to diverse cultural and academic backgrounds and learning styles.
Teacher training and ability to instruct in several subject areas. Experience teaching in a learning centre environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Access.|
