Accept fees paid by students and post to appropriate accounts in the student ledger. Confirm accuracy of student refund requests and process as required. Research and identify any credit card variances between credit card portal and SLED reports. Reconcile all entries posted to the student ledger. Scan documents to student records. Review and analyze student records. Collect, verify and receipt funds submitted by all revenue-generating departments. Balance cash receipts and prepare daily bank deposit. Post cash receipts to the Financial Record System (FRS), ensuring coding is accurate. Collect outstanding fees using established collection procedures. Work closely with Registration/Admissions staff at all campuses. Cashier position liaises regularly with Financial Aid, CCS, Accounts Receivable, Western Student Housing and VIUSU. Maintain cash floats and petty cash fund. Monitor revenues/expense recoveries for applicable tax implications, extract taxes as required. Liaise with external sources related to student awards and with respect to collections efforts. Other related accounting duties as assigned.|
Grade 12 education, plus minimum 15 credits post-secondary core accounting courses from an appropriately accredited institution. Three to five years recent general accounting experience, including in-depth exposure to cash administration. Equivalent combination of education and recent related experience may be considered. Collections experience. Intermediate level-skills using Microsoft Excel and Word. Accurate data entry experience. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to details. High volume front-line service experience.|
