Work closely with Manager to administer contract training programs. Recruit and select contract training program participants. Deliver program presentations to service providers in Central Island Region. Advertise program opportunities. Accept and prescreen student applications. Interview prospective students. Assign and confirm acceptance of available seats. Provide statistics to recommend additional program offerings.
Work with local employment service providers and the Ministry of Housing & Social Development regarding referrals.
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an appropriately accredited institution. 5-7 years directly related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of client case management and familiarity with Employment Insurance programs and services Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and communicate sensitively with vulnerable students. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a cost recovery environment.|
Knowledge of VIU programs and systems (e.g., Continuing Education SB, Student Record System, Financial Record System). Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence and have a confirmed satisfactory driving record (as specified in Vancouver Island University policy and procedures).|
