The Business Case and Contracts Office (BCCO) ensures structure, processes, and tools are in place to support business opportunity planning, decision making and implementation and provides leadership in contracting at Vancouver Island University.|
Working with the Manager, Business Opportunity Planning, provide services in relation to the development of contracts and agreements and support for VIU's contract administration process. Play a key role in ensuring that agreements and contracts the University enters into reflect the intent, operational, risk and legislative requirements of the institution. Specific duties include:
A bachelor's degree in business or law/legal studies. Three to five years of current and relevant experience with contract law in a medium to large organization or an environment with a diverse client base. Relevant experience must include demonstrated knowledge of contract law and its application to agreements, contracts, amendments and memorandums of understanding. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, very detail oriented, have strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment, tact and discretion in dealing with a wide variety of sensitive issues that surface in a diverse environment. Advanced skills with MS Office.
A post designation in either the field of law or procurement. Experience in a public sector environment.|
