Assume teaching responsibilities as a temporary member of the Faculty of Education. Responsibilities will include teaching within the Bachelor of Education and Post-Baccalaureate program. This position includes team teaching responsibilities.
EDTE 400: Principles of Teaching and Learning III (Mon, Thurs)
EDPB 513: Principles of Teaching and Learning II (one 3-credit section Mon)
EDTE 401: Principles of Teaching and Learning IV (Mon, Wed)
EDPB 514: Principles of Teaching and Learning II (one 3-credit section Mon)
Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.|
Master's Degree in relevant area from an appropriately accredited institution. Evidence of knowledge of appropriate teaching methodology in the K-12 system and knowledge of the BC Education Plan. Demonstrated effective teaching with adult learners. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills. Willingness and ability to function in a team setting; responsive to diverse cultural and academic backgrounds and learning styles. Commitment to the development of students as teachers. Eligibility for British Columbia Teaching Certificate or equivalent.|
An earned or almost completed doctorate in a relevant area from an appropriately accredited institution. Familiarity with the Vancouver Island University Teacher Education Program.|
