We are seeking an energetic, team-oriented individual with a strong background in curriculum development, teaching and distance education. The successful candidate will be adept at developing and teaching courses online with a focus on First Nations Communities.
Your specific duties will be to develop online course material in the Bachelor of Social Work program. You will develop course content and materials for Internet delivery for SOCW 421-Social Work Practice with First Nations Communities. From a prescribed course outline which details the course description and learning outcomes, you will design the course content, teaching strategies, assessment and evaluation strategies, readings and resources for each module of content. The modules will include learning activities as well as any required assignments, tests, exams, exercises and evaluative processes for the course including all evaluation quiz question banks, rubrics, and marking schemes.
Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.|
Master's Degree in Social Work. Demonstrated experience in anti-oppressive and structural social work practice required. Experience in the development and/or delivery of course(s) within an accredited post secondary institution.|
PhD in Social Work or related discipline. On-line course development experience within a Desire2Learn learning management system.|
