Teach DENH 162 - Oral Sciences II. This course introduces the learner to the basic knowledge and practical application of local anesthesia.
Design and update curriculum; prepare and facilitate learning experiences and classes; develop and grade student assignments and assessments; facilitate students' integration of theory and practice; and evaluate students' progress both in class and clinical setting.
Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.
Dentist (DDS or DMD) from appropriately accredited institution, with current membership and in good standing with the College of Dental Surgeons of BC. Minimum of three years recent dental experience. Adult education experience and demonstrated teaching effectiveness. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.|
Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence and have a confirmed satisfactory driving record (as specified in Vancouver Island University policy and procedures).
Provincial Instructor Diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with computer applications in an educational setting.|
