- 80% (CUPE) or 95% (ADMIN/BCGEU/VIUFA) of prescription drugs, hospital and ambulance charges, etc. excluding amounts eligible for payment by Pharmacare
- $25 deductible per calendar year (whether single or family)
Vision Care

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Industrial Alliance Pacific
- Three times basic annual salary rounded to the next higher $1,000 if not a multiple of $1,000
- Maximum benefit: $800,000; CUPE/ADMIN/BCGEU/VIUFA
- Scheduled amounts for dismemberment, loss of sight, etc.
CUPE Long Term Disability Income Manulife Financial
- Subject to approval of claim by the carrier
- 60% of monthly salary
- The monthly benefit is payable from the first day following the Elimination Period (3 months of continuous disability)
- Payments continue to age 65 provided you remain totally disabled
- Maximum monthly benefit: $12,000
ADMIN/BCGEU/VIUFA Faculty and Administration Common Disability Plan - Manulife Financial
- Subject to approval of claim by the carrier
- Short Term Disability (STD) Income, after 30 calendar days - 70% of gross weekly insured earnings**
- Long Term Disability (LTD) Income, after 6 months - 70% of gross monthly insured earnings**
- STD payments continue for 21 weeks or until the end of the month in which the employee retires, whichever is earlier
- LTD payments continue to age 65 provided you remain totally disabled
** Gross insured earnings refers to an employee's hours eligible for STD and/or LTD insurance normally worked per week or month, as determined by averaging the number of hours he/she actually worked over the 52 week period immediately preceding the date of disability or illness, times his/her hourly rate in effect at the date of disability.
