The Employer's Role
The employer, in collaboration with an MBA/MScIB Internship Coordinator, sets the parameters for the MBA/MScIB intern. In the operational duties scenario, this would mean providing direction and ongoing support and feedback regarding the assigned tasks. In the project scenario, this would mean providing access to key people and information and clearly defining the potential sensitivity of information.
In both situations, it would be an added value to both the intern and the employer for someone in the organization to assume a mentorship role with the intern. This mentoring relationship would be the key to ensuring the intern successfully adapts and fits into the culture of the organization.
The employer will be requested to provide scheduled feedback on the intern's contributions. This feedback may be used, at the employer's discretion, as promotional material that highlights the partnership that has been established between the business community and Vancouver Island University.
What is the Cost?
Compensation to the MBA/MScIB intern for their work is extremely flexible having no program related minimum or maximum.
