Academic Success or Probation?
Research has shown that students who are well prepared for Post Secondary Studies are more likely to experience success. Check out these resources to understand what academic probation is and how to avoid being placed on it. If you were placed on probation or think you might be at risk of being placed on academic probation, please check in with us to get connected with resources and to devise a plan for success.
- Complete the preparedness checklist to see if you are well prepared to succeed.

- Read the Probation Policy.

- Meet with an Advisor if you would like to review any of the above.
Students Returning From Academic Suspension (Re-Entry Requirements)
Students who fail an academic program are suspended from university studies for a full academic year. Students wishing to return from Academic Suspension are required to meet with an Educational Counsellor.
Please call 250-740-6410 to make the appointment and state that you are hoping to return from Academic Suspension. Prior to your appointment, please:
- Fill in and print the
Preparedness checklist and the
Application for Readmission. Bring them with you to the appointment. - Review the Resources Available to You and the Probation Policy.
- Jot down any questions or concerns that you may wish to discuss.
If you are out-of-town and cannot make an in-person appointment you can complete your checklist and application online. After you have submitted them, please arrange a phone interview by calling us at 250-740-6410 and let our receptionist know the purpose of the interview.
