I have applied to VIU; What are the next steps?

Students should receive a confirmation letter from VIU within 4 weeks. If students apply on line, they will receive immediate confirmation that their application has been received.

Applications for University Courses

• Conditional acceptance. Formal acceptance will depend upon their final transcript (which must confirm both graduation and English 12 (min "C").
• An update letter in late January and March from the Admissions Office.
• Notification of their registration date in late May or early June. Students will be able to register in June. Students should reply to any request from the Admissions Department.

Applications for Career/ Technical and Applied Programs

• Program requirements and intakes will vary, therefore the Admissions Office will be contacting students as required. 
• Students should respond to any requests from Admissions and need to be able to demonstrate that they are registered in courses required for their program(s).
• Students will be notified if they are accepted by the end of May.
• Students will normally register in June.
