Milner Christmas Magic
Looking for a local family oriented event this holiday season? Brighten your winter with a dazzling display of lights and live music at the “Milner Christmas Magic” festival of lights and music at Vancouver Island University’s Milner Gardens and Woodland.
Located at 2179 West Island Highway in Qualicum Beach, BC, the Milner Garden estate was acquired by Vancouver Island University in 1996. In May, 1996, the garden was dedicated as "The Milner Gardens" in recognition of Ray and Veronica Milner. Malaspina’s goal is to maintain the garden in perpetuity for education and the community’s benefit in Ray Milner’s memory.
Visitors to “Milner Christmas Magic” will find decorative festive lights, holiday displays, and groups of performing musicians presenting holiday music. Santa Claus and his Elves will be on hand in the Food Garden’s gazebo to greet the children. You might also watch for "the Christmas Bear" to direct you around the garden. Visit the heritage house for hot refreshments and shop at our seasonal gift shop. Fresh Cedar Bough wreathes and swags will be on sale, and the Teddy Bear Cottage is back by popular demand.
Milner Christmas Magic runs from December 2 to 4, 9 to 11, & 16 to 20, 2005 from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm each evening.
Admission is by donation. More information is available on-line at www.milnergardens.org or by telephone at 250-752-6153 or 250-752-8573.
We recommend you bring along a flashlight to join in the “procession of lights”.
Beginning in March 2006, Milner Gardens and Woodland will be included in the Alumni Benefits Program.
