Alumni - Have Your Voice Heard
“Creating a Value Statement”
As a student, you spent a considerable amount of time at Vancouver Island University and perhaps know best what makes Malaspina unique and different from other post-secondary institutions. Now that you’re an Alumni, we’re interested in hearing from you what you value about your time and experiences at Vancouver Island University.
Vancouver Island University is involved in an institutional planning exercise aimed at identifying, developing, and communicating Malaspina’s shared values.
Malaspina, through the Office of Educational Planning, has instituted a process, SignPosts 2006-2009, designed to develop a three-year institutional strategic plan. One part of the project is aimed at creating a Value Statement.
This is a positively focused, emotive exercise to help clarify values and attributes shared by those connected to Vancouver Island University.
The goal is to determine our source of pride and the Value Statement will communicate what sets Vancouver Island University apart and will reflect what is unique and special about the way we do things.
As Alumni of Vancouver Island University, we want to hear your thoughts. If someone asked you what you like about Vancouver Island University, what would you say? What do you appreciate about the institution, your program?
What aspects of your experience at Vancouver Island University serve as a source of inspiration, pride and guidance?
Thanks for sharing with us. We value and appreciate your contributions.
Please send your Value Statement contributions to Leslie Bishop at bishop@viu.ca by December 20, 2005.
