If you do not meet the English 12 “C” grade and Math 10 “C” grade prerequisites for this program, an assessment covering the following is required:

30 questions – multiple choice. Identify correct usage in sentences (pronouns, verbs, transition words), capitalization and punctuation. Identify well organized and effective paragraphs.

30 question on operations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals percent and word problems.

 

50 minutes

A dictionary is not permitted, a calculator is permitted.

To help you prepare for the assessment, Learning Centres are available:

Nanaimo Learning Centre, Building 205, Room 106, is usually open Tues –Thurs 11:30 – 2:30. Call 250 740-6425 to confirm hours of operation.

Cowichan Campus Learning Center, Building 601, Call 250 746 3509 to schedule an appointment

Powell River Campus Learning Center, Call 604 485 2878 to confirm hours of operation.
