Assessment Services Provide
- Entrance and placement testing on campus for a variety of Vancouver Island University programs. Effective June 1, 2011 assessment fees for all programs including keyboarding for admission to CCS programs are $15.00, rewrite $10.00. Placement testing for Adult Basic Education is no cost.
- Entrance and placement testing for applicants who live outside of the campus region.
- Coordination and invigilation of exams or assessments for other colleges or universities, government agencies and professional organizations..
- Administration of:
- GED (General Educational Development)
- LPI (Language Proficiency Index)
- SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Tests)
- NIDES (North Island Distance Education School) exam supervision
- Keyboard testing
All assessment services are available at the Nanaimo, Cowichan and Powell River campuses. The Parksville Centre provides placement testing only for their Career and Academic Preparation courses and NIDES exams.

To help you prepare for the assessment the following Learning Centres are available:
Nanaimo Learning Centre, Building 205, Room 106. The Centre is generally open Mon - Fri 9:30 - 1:30. Call 250-740-6425 to confirm the Centre's hours of operation.
Cowichan Campus Learning Centre, Building 601. Call 250-746-3509 to schedule an appointment.
Powell River Campus Learning Centre. Call 604-485-2878 to confirm hours of operation.
