University and Career/Technical Programs 2006

13 April (Thursday): Last day to pay for Summer Session tuition.
1 May (Monday): First day of Summer Session classes. First day of both the 14-week session and the first 7-week session.
2 May (Tuesday): Last day of active wait list for the first 7-week session of Summer Session classes.
5 May (Friday): Last day of active wait list for the 14-week session of Summer Session classes.
22 May (Monday): Victoria Day; University closed.
26 May (Friday): Last day for academic penalty-free withdrawal from the first 7-week session of Summer Session Classes.
6 June (Tuesday): Convocation Ceremony of Bachelor’s degrees.
16 June (Friday): Last day of the first 7-week Summer Session classes.
19 June (Monday): First day of the second 7 week set of Summer Session classes.
20 June (Tuesday): Last day of active wait list for the second 7-week session of Summer Session classes.
23 June (Friday): Final grades due for the first 7 week Summer Session by 4 pm.
23 June (Friday): Last day for academic penalty-free withdrawal from the 14-week session of Summer Session classes.
3 July (Monday): Canada Day observed; University closed.
14 July (Friday): Last day for academic penalty-free withdrawal from the second 7-week session of Summer Session classes.
14 July (Friday): Recommended deadline to submit Student Loan Application to the Ministry of Advanced Education to ensure receipt of funds by the first day of Fall semester classes.
31 July (Monday): $200 tuition deposit due for University Programs. Failure to pay the deposit will result in de-registration.
4 August (Friday): Last day of all Summer Session classes.
7 August (Monday): BC Day; University closed.
14 August (Monday): Final grades due for all Summer Session by 4 pm.
31 August (Thursday): Orientation for new first-year University Program students at the Nanaimo campus.
4 September (Monday): Labour Day; University closed.
5 September (Tuesday): First day of classes for Fall semester.
12 September (Tuesday): Last day of active wait-list. After this date, courses may be dropped, over the web or in person, and may be added in person using the Request For Late Course Registration Form.
18 September (Monday): Last day to add / drop a course before Fall tuition is calculated.
19 September (Tuesday): Tuition calculated. Students in University and Career/Technical Programs will be billed for all courses enrolled in as of this date.
22 September (Friday): Last day to apply to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Fall 2006.
1 October (Sunday): Last day to pay Fall semester tuition. Any tuition unpaid as of October 3, will be assessed a 10% late fee.
9 October (Monday): Thanksgiving Day; University closed.
13 October (Friday): Last day to apply for BC Student Assistance (student loan) for students attending Fall semester only.
31 October (Tuesday): Last day for overdue tuition for Fall semester to be paid to avoid withdrawal from Fall and Spring semester courses.
1 November (Wednesday): Students with fees owing as of this date will be removed from all Fall and Spring courses.
3 November (Friday): Last day for academic penalty-free withdrawal from a Fall Semester course or program or to change from credit to audit (or vice-versa) in University and Career/Technical Programs.
13 November (Monday): Remembrance Day observed; University closed.
15 November (Wednesday): First day to submit applications for University and Career/Technical Programs beginning September 2007.
24 November (Friday): Last day to apply to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Spring 2007.
4 December (Monday): Last day of classes for University and Career/Technical Programs.
5 December – 6 December (Tuesday – Wednesday): Final examination study days for University and Career/Technical Programs.
7 December (Thursday): First day of final examinations.
15 December (Friday): Convocation Ceremony for Bachelor’s degrees.
18 December (Monday): Last day of final examinations.
27 December (Wednesday): Final Fall semester grades due by 4 pm.
25 December – 1 January (Monday – Monday): Christmas / New Year break.

Vocational/Trades Programs 2006

Note: Tuition fees are due in full prior to the commencement of all Vocational/Trades Programs. Withdrawal from a program must be done by the end of the 8th week of classes to avoid academic penalty.
