Continuing Education

Since its inception, Vancouver Island University has demonstrated a strong commitment to, and innovative approaches in working with businesses and communities to meet the occupational and personal continuing education needs of adult learners throughout the region. Through its efforts, the institution serves thousands of life-long learners, from teens to elders, each year.

Centre for Continuing Studies

VIU’s Centre for Continuing Studies is designed to respond to emerging human resource and adult learning needs of businesses, public sector organizations, and individuals across the University region, as well as extending the institution’s reach to targeted organizations and learners beyond VIU’s regional boundaries. Centre personnel work closely with faculty, regional campuses, and clients to focus the institution’s resources on cost-effective solutions to their emerging needs. In this way, the Centre helps ensure that Vancouver Island University continues its vital role in supporting economic and social development across the region.

Regional Campuses and Centre

Vancouver Island University’s Cowichan and Powell River Campuses, and Parksville•Qualicum Centre each maintain an active Continuing Education office that serves the life-long learning needs of its surrounding communities and collaborates with the Centre for Continuing Studies and other institutional partners to identify and address the educational needs of these areas. These offices reflect the institution’s ongoing commitment to timely, locally-based program delivery.
