Fees: Trades & Applied Technology Programs
Description of Fees and Rates for domestic students:
- Tuition: $393.63 per month
- Student Activity fee: $15.75 per month.
- VIU Students' Union fee: $17.25 per month.
- Health and Dental Plan fee: $286 per year; this fee is only in effect for trades or vocational students in programs that are eight (8) months or longer at the Nanaimo Campus.
- Other fees: Some courses have additional fees to pay for extraordinary class–related expenses.

Note: Students are responsible for travel expenses during the practicum and may also wish to travel to attend a Dental Conference. A registration and licensure fee of approximately $400 paid to the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C. will be required prior to employment. Students must write the National Dental Assistant Board examination at an additional cost of approximately $350.
