Fees: Credit-Based Undergraduate Programs

Description of Fees and Rates for domestic students:

  1. Tuition: $128.64 per credit hour
    – $385.92 per 3-credit course per semester
    – $514.56 per 4-credit course per semester
  2. Student Activity fee: $5.15 per credit.
  3. VIU Students' Union fee: $66.44 per semester.
  4. Health and Dental Plan fee: $286 per year; this fee is only in effect for full–time students at the Nanaimo Campus.
  5. Other fees: Some courses have additional fees to pay for extraordinary class–related expenses.

Note: The above table is an example of fees for 30 credits. Students taking more than, or less than, 30 credits should adjust the fee totals by $133.79 per credit. For example: Students taking 33 credits, over two semesters, should add $401.37 (3 credits x $133.79) to the total fees in the table above. Students taking 36 credits should add $802.74.
