Applications Upgrade In Microcomputers
AUMC 101T (2) Current Operating Systems (Ends Nov 2011)
An in-depth look at operating systems, file management and system configuration using modern operating systems. (7:0:6 for 3 weeks)

AUMC 102T (2) Word Processing (Ends Nov 2011)
Basics of word processing and advanced features applicable in a business environment including advanced mail merge, document management, desktop publishing and management of multi-document projects linking and embedding graphics. (7:0:6 for 3 weeks)
Prerequisite: Admission to program or permission of Coordinator.
AUMC 103T (2) Applied Spreadsheets for Business (Ends Nov 2011)
Advanced features of spreadsheeting, including vertical look-up tables, macros, sorting, querying and filtering data. Integrating spreadsheets into word processing and database programs, as well as linking and embedding tables and graphs for use in a business environment. (7:0:6 for 3 weeks)
Prerequisite: Admission to program or permission of Coordinator.
AUMC 104T (1) Applied Database Management for Business (Ends Nov 2011)
Basics of database structures, including tables, forms, queries and reports. Utilizing input masks, default values, and validation rules in tables. Advanced queries with multiple variables, and generating professional reports for output. (7:0:7 for 1.5 weeks)

AUMC 105T (1.5) On-line Fundamentals (Ends Nov 2011)
A comprehensive introduction to the concepts and tools required for the effective use of on-line communication in the modern business environment. Topics include e-mail packages, news groups and conferencing, scheduling, worldwide web applications, search engines, and essential on-line utilities. (7:0:6 for 2.5 weeks)
Prerequisite: Admission to program or permission of Coordinator.
AUMC 106T (1.5) Digital Presentation (Ends Nov 2011)
An introduction to the design and creation of digital presentation materials. Topics include computer-based presentations, animation, graphics for presentation, video and audio media, presentation skills, and desktop publishing. (7:0:7 for 2 weeks)
Prerequisite: Admission to program or permission of Coordinator.
AUMC 107T (3) Computer Training Skills for the Workplace (Ends Nov 2011)
An introduction to designing and implementing software application training sessions for the workplace, including preparation of basic lesson plans, handouts and presentation materials. Students choose a current office software application and design, create and deliver a 30-minute training presentation. (1.5:0:6 for 10 weeks)
Prerequisite: Enrolment in all AUMC courses, or permission of Coordinator.
AUMC 119T (2) Integrated Applications Project (Ends Nov 2011)
A project-based course combining skills acquired throughout the program. Design and create a comprehensive solution to a "real world" business challenge. (7:0:12 for 2.5 weeks)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of AUMC 101T, 102T, 103T, 104T, 105T, and 106T.
