Mind & Body Class Descriptions

DownDawg Yoga
Fusion of classic yoga practise with a high energy hip hop/funk music style.  Flow sequences of yoga postures interspersed with strength poses is sure to bring out the sweat!  Instructor: Alisom O’Beirne

Power Yoga
Power Yoga emphasizes vigorous sequences of flowing postures linked with breath.  In addition to being a great workout, it is a valuable means of improving concentration and cultivating peace of mind. Instructor: Angelina McNamee

Tai Chi
Taoist style Tai Chi is specifically aimed at cultivating health and vitality. The slow and graceful movements of this form relax and strength both the body and mind. Increased flexibility, improved balance and co-ordination are some short term effects available to practitioners. This form is non-competitive and is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Yoga
Come and discover the powerful benefits of improving your posture, clearing the mind and reducing stress.  This class will offer Yoga poses that will flow smoothly from one to the next, increasing flexibility, strength and overall fitness. All levels welcome!

Yogalates
Add simple warm-up yoga poses to a Pilates mat class and you have a great way to clear your head and relax your body. Equal emphasis on core strength and stretching will help ease tired backs and shoulders and even out muscle imbalances caused by hours in class or just everyday life.  Instructor: Melanie Kirk

Pilates
Dancers and elite athletes have used Pilates for almost 100 years for its functional strength and rehabilitative properties. Learn to combine the power of your breath with controlled movements to strengthen your core, improve your posture and create a toned, yet flexible body.  Props will add challenge through instability. Each class will end with a stretch and relaxation component to leave you refreshed and ready to face your day. Instructor: Melanie Kirk
