Community Supporters
Teresa at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore in Nanaimo loves having the students work at the store. She says that her favourite part of working there is that "you can see the results of your work" with the local volunteer work.

"Just give the students a chance to build their life skills through work experience. You'll be surprised at what they can do."
Randy Romano, Store Manager at Quality Foods
"We have worked with the ELST program for 3 years and have found the students to be helpful, hard working and a benefit to the store in stocking and displaying products. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with this program and would highly recommend it to any business."
Paul Mann, Store Manager of Nanaimo Home Hardware
Darlene accepted an offer of paid employment at Winners, her on-the-job training location. The Store Manager, Irene Clark, has wonderful things to say about her new employee: "Darlene is presently here on her work experience and we love her. She's worked in many different areas of the store, including warehousing, processing goods coming into the store, unpacking giftware, hanging clothes, organizing new stock, cleaning, and helping to make our goods presentable for our customers."
"The program has just helped [Darlene] meet her career goals, improve her self-esteem, and make positive changes in other areas of her life."
Jennifer U'Chong, ELST vocational trainer
