Glenda HunterGlenda Hunter

BSc. MSc. Dip. Ed.
Glenda has been instructing biology 047/067, chemistry 047/067 and physics 047 in Career and Academic Preparation (CAP) for Vancouver Island University since 1994. Glenda is now a student at UBC and plans to complete her doctoral degree in Education by 2009. Glenda enjoys working with CAP students because they are intelligent, motivated and enthusiastic!

Tom Leavitt

CAP math and physics instructor, all levels.
Tom began his life as a secondary school teacher in 1989. He escaped west 4 years later and has been seen teaching at VIU since 1993. Early risers will find Tom teaching math at Outlooks Unlimited. Afternoon students may spot him wheeling carts full of physics toys around the building on campus, where he teaches physics 12.

Margaret (Maggy) MacDonald

CAP / ELST Instructor at Vancouver Island University since 1991; taught in Surrey School District prior to coming to Mal U
B.A. Psychology (University of Windsor); B.SW. (University of Windsor); Teaching Certificate –Elementary specialty (University of Victoria)
TEFL Certificate- (Vancouver Island University) and some overseas teaching experience; Currently enrolled in M.A Human Security and Peacebuilding (Royal Roads University).

Graduated from Lakehead University
Teaching experience includes:
1990 - 1992 (elementary school in Ontario - grades 5, 6, 7 & 8)
1992 - 1993 (high school in Ontario - grades 10 and 12)
1993 - present (VIU - all levels of English and math)

Carol RameyCarol Ramey

CAP and Literacy Coordinator, Math and Science Instructor
Bachelor of Science (Victoria) Master of Science (Carleton)
Taught Biology at Carleton University from 1988 to 1993, Biology, Math and Computers at North Island College from 1994 to 1998 and Math at VIU since 2001.
Have done research on Killer Whales, Bighorn sheep, Buff-Breasted Sandpipers and Predatory mites.

Lynn Redford

ELST and EDCP Intructor
Bachelor of General Studies, Simon Fraser University. Lynn joined VIU's ELST team as a Vocational Trainer in September of 1999. She has been an instructor in ELST since January, 2001, and also teaches Education and Career Planning in CAP . Lynn loves her job, and the wonderful people she works with in building 205.
