Facilitating a workshop on CBR

Dr. Jennifer Mullett, the Director of the Institute, is a Community Psychologist with a passion for working with community members for social change and healthy communities through community based action research. Prior to coming to Vancouver Island University, Dr. Mullett was a Community Based Research Scholar at the University of Victoria funded by the British Columbia Health Research Foundation and the Chair of that foundation's Community Based Research Funding Program. She has worked extensively with community agencies to build capacity for engaging in collaborative research, to increase collaboration amongst non-profit agencies and across sectors-- all towards creating socially democratic and healthy communities.

Sarah Fletcher, Manager of Community Projects, has a Masters of Arts in Medical Anthropology with a background in health psychology, community-based research and collaboration with Aboriginal communities. She has conducted several research projects related to her passions for human rights, health and the environment. She is currently completing her PhD in Medical Anthropology at the University of Victoria with a focus on the mental well being of immigrant youth. At the Institute she facilitates meetings with community partners and mentors students in research methods and analysis.
