This program is for Certified Estheticians or those with proof of completion of a Natural Nail Care and Services program.

Gain the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary to work as an artificial nail technician. Prepare to become part of a growing industry and be on the leading edge of the fashion and trends in nail technology. Ideal for certified Estheticians or those with training in natural nail care.

Career Opportunities

Upon successful completion and graduation from the program, students will have entry level skills to work as artificial nail technicians, specifically on clients’ hands and feet, giving treatments or applying artificial products for nail enhancements.

Graduates may work in any of the following settings or capacities:

  • Day spa, resorts, destination and cruise ship spas;Viu Salon Esthetics & Nail Services
  • Hair salons;
  • Private business;
  • Sales and promotion.

  • Career Essentials (NAIL 011) 10 hours
  • The Science Of Nail Care (NAIL 012) 10 hours
  • Artificial Nail Services (NAIL 013) 60 hours

Course Delivery:

The program is offered annually in Parksville. This 240 hour program is delivered on a full-time basis five days a week for 91/2 weeks.

January 2013 (Parksville)

Admission Requirements:

  • Grade 12, or equivalent, or mature student status.
  • Minimum of 17 years of age.
  • Documented completion of an esthetics certificate program or a natural nail manicure/pedicure program.
  • Successful completion of a Personal Profile.
  • Students may be interviewed by program staff and industry representatives.

Recommendations for Admission:

  • Good hand-eye coordination.

In cases where there are more applicants than seats available, priority will be given to early applicants.
