Congratulations - you have worked and studied hard and you are now ready to graduate!

Now What?

Applying to Graduate

First, you must apply to graduate. Graduating from a Bachelor or Masters program is not automatic, you must apply! You can apply to graduate from your online student record by clicking on "Apply for a Degree".

JUNE 2012 Convocation

The deadline to apply to attend the June convocation has passed. If there are other changes that need to be made to your graduation application please e-mail rolanda.murray@viu and she will assist you.

Grad Photography

We offered graduates the opportunity to sign up for grad photography sessions. (Please note that this is optional)

Ordering Tickets

The deadline to order tickets to the convocation was March 14, 2012. If you have applied to attend a convocation ceremony in June 2012 the tickets packages have at this point been picked up or mailed out to all students. Please remember, any additional tickets that you requested are provided on a first come, first served basis.

Ordering Regalia

All students that wish to attend a convocation ceremony must order and wear the proper regalia. The deadline to order regalia was March 14, 2012.

Valedictorian Selection Process

We offer all graduating students that are attending a convocation the opportunity to be Valedictorian for their ceremony. The Valedictorian selection will begin shortly. All students attending a convocation will be sent an e-mail that invites you to select the person that you want to represent you at your ceremony.

Live Webcast / Event Photography

Please note that VIU convocation ceremonies are webcast internationally. As well, VIU staff photographers take pictures throughout the ceremony for use in various forms of media including print or multimedia materials.
