Strong Interest Inventory
Description
The Strong Interest Inventory (2004 Edition) is a self-report questionanaire used to measure your interests in a broad range of occupations, work activities, leisure activities, and school subjects. It is used to predict the kinds of work you may find satisfying. The survey is available to be completed online. It consists of 320 questions and takes approximately 20 - 30 minutes to complete.
Cost
The cost for the Strong Interest Inventory is $30.
Procedure
The Strong Interest Inventory must be interpreted by a trained professional, therefore, all students must meet with a VIU counsellor/educational counsellor to use this assessment.
- Meet with a VIU counsellor/educational counsellor in Student Services or the Campus Career Centre to determine if this is a suitable assessment for you.
- Obtain a Payment form from your counsellor.
- Pay for Strong assessment at Cashier's office and bring receipt of payment to Counselling or CCC reception desk.
- Your counsellor will set up an account and an email will be sent to you with a user name and password. Once you have completed the online Strong, your counsellor/ed counsellor will automatically be notified by email that the assessment has been completed.
- Arrange an appointment wtih the counsellor/ed counsellor to review your report. You will recieve a copy of your report at this appointment.
