Don Tillapaugh

Director, Centre for Shellfish Research

Don Tillapaugh

Don has a 30-year history in the BC seafood industry, including roles in government, industry, trade associations, college, research and consulting.  He is currently Director of the Centre for Shellfish Research, Deep Bay Marine Field Station and International Centre for Sturgeon Studies at Vancouver Island University.  In this role, Don is responsible for providing overall vision, leadership and strategic direction, using VIU’s new 40,000 sq. ft. of applied research infrastructure to propel VIU’s vision as the “seafood university” creating sustainable prosperity for coastal communities through wealth creation from the oceans.
