Authentic Chinese dinner with Chef Du from Yunnan province
Join Culinary Institute of Vancouver Island students with Chef Du and alumnus Peng from Yunnan Province in China. They will be preparing an authentic Chinese dinner on in the Discovery Room.
Those familiar with authentic Chinese gourmet cuisine will appreciate that the menu for this meal will be based on the quality of the ingredients available at the time of the meal preparation. Be prepared for an exquisite surprise.

Island on the Edge film screening and discussion panel regarding food security on Vancouver Island
The film examines the history of food production on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. It asks,what would happen to our food supply if we were suddenly cut off from the rest of the world?
A documentary produced and directed by Nick Versteeg, written by Don Genova.

Seven stunning wines drawn from the cellars at Mission Hill, including the 2004 Select Lots Collection Syrah and two of the winery's newest luxury small lot wines; 2006 Perpetua and 2005 Quatrain.
The culinary magic of Matt Batey,VIU alumnus, and restaurant chef at Mission Hill's Terrace restaurant, Leanne Bentley, Mission Hill pastry chef,and the second year diploma programme students of CIVI.

Spotlight on Culinary Alumni David Wong who is competing in the world renowned Bocuse D'Or hot food competition in Lyon, France. October 17, 2008
The evening will feature distinguished culinary alumni who will be treating guests to fabulous tasters prepared at 12 different stations to celebrate the success of our graduates and to also raise funds for the creation of scholarships, awards and bursaries for culinary students.
This event raised $5200 for David and our Students. Thank you!
