Application Process:

VIU Credit Course - Fall and Spring
You must first enroll in a program such as the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Applied Business Technology Online, etc., in order to register for credit courses at VIU.
- Review the application dates and prerequisites for your chosen program.
- Apply to the program & supply any documentation such as high school or other transcripts to the Registration Centre.
- Once accepted to your program you will receive notification from the Registration Centre and details such as registration dates and deposit and/or fee deadlines.
- Apply to the CUPE Training & Development fund by following the instructions for the CUPE Professional Development Fund - Online Application. Apply for the full cost of your course(s), plus any additional costs such as textbooks or software. Allow up to 4 weeks for approval.
- Submit a CUPE Employee Tuition Waiver form along with your application. The form must be authorized by Human Resources and then forwarded to the CUPE T&D Assistant.
- Once CUPE funding is approved* and you receive your sponsor letter, submit the original sponsor letter to the Registration Centre and keep a copy for your files. If using the sponsor letter to purchase textbook(s), take a copy to the bookstore, purchase your approved supplies and then submit the copy along with the bookstore receipt to the T&D Assistant.
- Register for your course(s) online or in person at the Registration Centre.
- Advise the T&D Assistant if you are unable to register in your course(s) or if you make changes to your course scheduling.
*If approval is not received prior to the June 15th tuition deposit deadline, you must pay the deposit in order to reserve your seat and get reimbursed by the fund once your application is approved.
Note: There is no tuition deposit required for the Spring semester.
