Facilities
The Deep Bay Marine Field Station building is a 10,000 sq. ft. multi-use facility with purpose built venues in a flexible design. The special purpose rooms include a seminar & conference room and an adjoining interpretive foyer and demonstration kitchen on the upper floor; and a teaching classroom and wet and dry research labs on the lower floor.
Commercial research and development components include a working shellfish farm on nearby deep water and intertidal tenures, on land pump ashore seawater systems with algae culture facility and tank farm on site. The innovative programming planned for the field station utilizes all of these facilities and venues singly or in various combinations.
The Deep Bay Marine Field station will have the following:
