Step 1: Career Plan
Ask yourself: What would I like to do? Would this program be suited to me?
Work with a Career Counsellor from your community to establish an educational career plan:

Step 2: Advisor
Make an appointment with a Vancouver Island University

Bring your career plan to the appointment. Ask the advisor: What courses do I take to complete my plan? Do I have the entry requirements? When are program information sessions?
Step 3: Apply
Fill out and submit Application for Admission to Vancouver Island University before program deadline date.
Step 4: Pay
Explore Financial Aid options 250-740-6423
Ask: How will I pay for my courses?
Step 5: Documentation
Obtain required disability documentation. Certified documentation must be from a qualified professional, and be dated within the last 5 years. Take a “Verification of Disabilities” form to a certified professional to complete.Your Dr. or medical specialist completes pages 6-8 only.
Step 6: Appointment
Make appointment with Disability Services 250-740-6446
Bring: Your completed documentation and your career plan
Discuss the type of academic accommodation services that will help to lessen educational barriers created by your disability.
Step 7: Communicate
Discuss your accommodation with your instructors at the beginning of each new semester.
Step 8: Inform
Keep Disability Services informed of any new developments, or any changes to your health or disability.
