Faculty Resources Annotated Menu

The expanded list on the left links to resources frequently used by Education Faculty & Staff.

Moodle Login: login to Moodle; for requesting, creating, or logging into Education's Moodle course instances; for accessing FIELD EXPERIENCE SUPERVISORS' PRACTICUM TEMPLATES under "course" name "Field Experience Supervisors' Practicum Templates and Resources".
  First time logins: Create a user id and password from the main Moodle page
     upper right ("Create new account"). Watch a training clip for this
    online. (Audio is required.) Before accessing Moodle, be sure your
    computer meets the system requirements here.Once you have a user id &
    password you can request course instances to build your own.
  First time course/area access (when you don't have creator or instructor
    status)
: Login with your user id and password. Go to "Course Categories"
    in main panel, then "Faculty Matierals". Find "Field Experience Supervisors'
    Templates and Resources". Select course/area and enroll. You will
    need an enrollment key (access code).  

Moodle Support: links to technical how-tos for using Moodle.

Equipment Booking: policies & procedures for booking equipment from the Faculty of Education Educational Technology Office.

Room Bookings: how to locate & reserve rooms--especially computer labs--for special classes or events.

Webmail Access: link to access your employee mail account when you are traveling or away from your computer. You will need your username and password for the university system.

InVIU: link to employee intranet with information about upcoming professional development opportunities, other events and more. You can register for many professional development events via InVIU.You will need your employee computer user id and password to login.

Ed Tech: link to the site for the Educational Technologist at the Faculty of Education. Find links to in-house professional development documents and locally developed workshops.

Teaching & Learning Centre: link to Vancouver Island University Teaching & Learning Centre--a professional development hub for expanding your instructional skills and knowledge including the incorporation and applications of educational technologies.

Tech How-To's: a page with useful links to tech support documents from the university's IT department.
