Discover three ways to earn your Master of Education in Educational Leadership at Vancouver Island University:

Option 1 – The Campus Commuter

If you’re close enough to VIU to carpool, walk, or cycle this delivery method is built around the schedule of a working teacher.  Classes meet six Friday evenings and six Saturdays per semester over two years. There is one on-campus summer residency in July.

Option 2 – The Scenic Route

The scenic route allows you to study online and attend two brief summer residencies. This two-year program is offered via The Centre for Innovative Educational Leadership at VIU. In the first year, spend eight days studying in Vancouver and four weeks the following July at the Nanaimo Campus.  Students are awarded a Graduate Diploma in Teacher Leadership after year one and can stay on for a second year and complete a Master’s in Educational Leadership.

Option 3 – The Bike Path

Ride your bike or walk to class from your dorm at Western Student Housing. Spend two semesters at scenic Vancouver Island University and study full-time. The third and final semester can be completed online.  Domestic students will earn a leg up in the field and prepare themselves for educational leadership roles. International students are offered a unique cultural experience and a perspective on BC educational practices that can be taken home and integrated.
