A Trip to South Korea (July 2007)

Year 4 Education students Dayna BaxterAlexis Honeyman and faculty member Mary O'Neill headed to Seoul, Korea July 2007 as members of the Bohram International Program (BIP.) The program is organised and sponsored by Seoul Women's University and offers participants the opportunity to join Korean University students in a one-month cultural orientation. Ten VIU Students and 3 faculty joined approximately 30 students from North America and 50 students from Korea for the month-long program.

The program is designed to guide international students to experience various aspects of Korean culture: history, contemporary issues, religion and thought, dance, architecture, food, film, politics, economics, music and more. Each student is matched with a Korean partner, exchange students of SWU. There were group discussions, a group presentation and a term paper. Students gained 3 academic credits for participation.
