Annual Review of Program Implementation (ARPI)
The Annual Review of Program Implementation (ARPI) is a process for assessing the success of program implementation and enhancement.
The purpose of ARPI is to assess progress toward the goals of VIU’s three-year plan for new program development and to suggest ways that planning and procedures for program development and implementation might be improved or modified. The goals are to reduce risk factors and improve the success of the program planning and implementation process. The Senate standing committee, Planning and Priorities, is responsible for conducting this annual review.
A Curriculum Development Annual Summary Report will be prepared each fall by the Office of Educational Planning (OEP) for submission to the Planning and Priorities Committee. OEP will work with the Deans to prepare information for comparison of proposed and actual enrolment, expenses, hiring, and resource implications.
Degree programs will be reviewed after the first and third offerings and non-degree programs will be reviewed after the first offering.
