Strategic Planning
Strategic planning refers to the process of setting goals, then finding the best ways to reach those goals given current circumstances. A strategic plan focuses energy and attention on priorities for change and provides a specific plan for action.
Vancouver Island University submits annual Accountability Plans and Reports to the Ministry which highlight our planning context and performance against specific provincial measures. As well, planning at VIU is driven by our Academic Plan.
VIU has participated in a comprehensive three-year strategic planning process called SignPosts. For more information on this process, and to see final plans, see our SignPosts web page.
Budget holders must also participate in the Budget Planning Process.
