Doors open at 11:30, shows begin at Noon
Bldg. 200, rm. 203, Nanaimo Campus
- Life After Oil (30 mins; 2008)
- The challenge for our future is to make use of alternative sources of energy to replace our dependence on fossil fuels: oil and coal. Right now, such sources are right before us. All we need to do is to scale up what already exists in the laboratory. This program shows how we can do this through technological innovation and will power.
- The Story of Stuff (21 mins; 2007)
- The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute animated, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It'll teach you something, it'll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.

- Nature of Things: Build Green (45 mins; 2007)
- In Build Green, Canada's best architects hype their green creations. From retro-fitting a hip, old Montreal housing complex with state-of-the-art sustainable energy systems, to pitching hay for strawbale houses, to building transportable "mini-homes" with their own small power plant, Build Green takes a close look at the materials and means we'd be foolish not to adopt. Build Green is here to show audiences that a house built from sticks and straw is better protection from the elements, and it mitigates your personal impact on global climate change.
