New Course: Geog 466 (Regional Studies), Spring 2012

Our Digital Earth: How Google Earth and Related Technologies are Changing the World

A hands-on examination of how Google Earth, Google Street View, and technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the Global Positioning System (GPS), and Remote Sensing are changing our world and the way that we view it.

This is a high-level introduction and discussion of these technologies presented in a mixed lecture and seminar format, and will be supplemented with some fun, practical exercises that demonstrate how to use the technology discussed in class.

Listed as GEOG 466, this course is worth 3 credits and is open to all students with third year or higher standing.
