Art Experience
Do you love making art? This is the course for you: we will begin with a guided tour of the Nanaimo Art Gallery's summer exhibit to inform and inspire you, before we get down to the business of making art. You will receive instruction on basic drawing skills, painting techniques and colour mixing, and learn how to combine these skills with collage to make fabulous multimedia paintings.
Cupcakes And More
Pastry Chef David Nolan will teach students how to bake delicious cupcakes and decorate them with creative frosting in fun flavour combinations. But save some room for lunch – you will make then bake homemade, healthy pizza! Chef Nolan will also be instructing students in all-important kitchen safety, so the only thing that gets toasty is the pizza crust. Come join the class and impress your friends and family with your awesome culinary skills!
Explore Fisheries And Aquaculture
Explore the world of fish, shellfish and aquatic bugs inhabiting the marine and freshwater ecosystems of beautiful Vancouver Island. Let instructors from the Fisheries and Aquaculture Department be your guides through several hands-on activities where you will learn how these animals are adapted to each unique habitat. Be prepared to get wet, dirty and have a lot of fun!

A mix of fun, hands-on, chemistry experiments in the lab, some talks about the chemistry of energy and the environment, and some exciting demos at the end.
