What is a Graphic Designer?
A Graphic Designer is a creative individual who develops the ability to communicate with clients in order to understand and interpret the design needs of both the client and their reader audiences. These designs are created through a visual and intellectual process that typically involves problem assessment, idea development and the production of a series of rough sketches. The discussion throughout the development of a design concept enables all involved to arrive at a visual solution and to facilitate the production into print or electronic media.
To be a successful graphic designer is also to be a creative person at heart. They must have a love of shape, colour, line and form - all part of the visual vocabulary necessary to create an exciting image. They must be excited by the way a mark is made on paper, rave over the design of a new typeface, rush to discover how their favorite graphic designer created the last masterpiece. In other words a graphic designer is excited and interested in all aspects of the visual world and contributes by practicing their craft as a professional.
