Careers in Graphic Design

Within the discipline of Graphic Design can be found a number of areas for specialization. They are typically advertising and marketing communications design, art and creative direction, branding and corporate identity, broadcast design, corporate communications, information design, editorial design, education, environmental design, new media and web design and packaging design. Graduating students can expect to gain entry or higher-level employment in any of the above fields or choose to continue a more specialized education within VIU or at other institutions such as the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Students have found employment on Vancouver Island and have traveled to larger communities within Canada and beyond.
