First Aid

First aid services are provided by trained Occupational First Aid Attendants to all persons on campus. To access these services, please follow the instructions below.

Nanaimo Campus - To summon first aid or emergency medical services,

• Dial 6600 from any internal phone.
• Call 250 740-6600 from your cell phone.
• Use one of the Yellow Emergency Call Boxes on the Nanaimo Campus (a map of locations is available at http://www.viu.ca/healthandsafety/emergency.asp )
• Two drop in First Aid stations are available on the Nanaimo campus for minor injuries during business hours. They are located in the gymnasium (Building 190) at the front reception desk and in the Security Office (Building 315).

Cowichan - To summon first aid or emergency medical services,

• Dial local 6600 from any internal phone.
• Dial 1-250-740-6600 from your cell phone.
• Use one of the yellow emergency call boxes located on campus.

Parksville/Qualicum - To summon first aid or emergency medical services,

• Dial 250-951-3000

Powell River - To summon first aid or emergency medical services,

• Dial local 8121 from any internal phone.
• Call 604-485-2878 from your cell phone.
