China/Canada BBA Collaboration
Overview
Vancouver Island University is a public, degree-granting institution that offers both university and college programs in Canada.

Vancouver Island University (VIU) in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada and Shenyang Ligong University (SLU) in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, People’s Republic of China have entered a cooperation agreement providing students from SLU Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program to complete Vancouver Island University’s Bachelor of Business Administration at the VIU campus in Canada.
Students entering the program at SLU in China will complete up to 2 years (60 credits) of business courses selected from the SLU Bachelor of Business Administration program and having met the requirements for transfer, will have the opportunity to transfer into the third year of the VIU, BBA at the VIU campus in Canada. On completion of the 3rd and 4th year requirements at VIU, students will be eligible to receive a VIU degree.
Academic Requirements
Participants must meet all of the requirements of the SLU BBA and successfully complete up to 60 credits of approved courses which would be considered for transfer to the VIU BBA. The maximum transferable credits are 60 or 2 full years of approved course study. Students who successfully complete the full 60 credits for transfer would be eligible to enter the 3rd year of study at the VIU campus in Canada as long as the minimum language requirements are met.
Language Requirements
To meet the English language requirements for academic programs, students must have completed VIU's English Language Program, or have already achieved a minimum TOEFL 550, TOEFL Computer Based Test (CBT) 213, IELTS 6.0, CAEL 60, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (min."B") or Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (min."B").
Conditional letters of acceptance can be provided for students who don't meet the academic language requirements and need to start in VIU's English Language Certificate program at the VIU campus in Canada.

To Apply for Admission to VIU
Please follow these five steps:
- Complete a printable application form [pdf].
- Enclose a $150 (Cdn) non-refundable Application Processing Fee – pay by Visa or Mastercard if applying on-line. Note: your application will not be processed without this fee.
- Enclose a certified copy of all educational documents in the original language, and a certified copy translated into English.
- Enclose a passport-size photograph.
- Submit on-line/Mail/Courier these to:
