Faculty of International Education Grants to Support VIU Faculty & Staff

There are two grant programs available to VIU faculty, instructors and staff:

1. Faculty and Staff Travel and Study Abroad Grants

Faculty and Staff Travel and Study Abroad Grants assist VIU faculty and staff to explore or develop international teaching and learning opportunities, particularly those that directly benefit the VIU community. ...more information

Grant Amounts: Up to $2500 per proposal.

Program Budget: Up to $10,000 in February and $10,000 in October each year.

Next Deadline: 4 pm October 31 2012 for winter and spring 2012/13 activites.

2. Internationalization Grants

Internationalization Grants support faculty and instructors as they work towards VIU’s internationalization goals.  

The intent of the program is to foster incremental, innovative activities that weave internationalization into departments or areas where little or no international focus is already present. ...more information

Grant Amounts: Grant amounts are expected to vary considerably. For activities that make a significant contribution to VIU’s internationalization, a single grant may represent the majority of the $10,000 funding for the round in question.

Program Budget: up to $10,000 in January and up to $10,000 in September each year.

Next Deadline: 4 pm September 30 2012 for 2012 Fall and 2013 Spring activities.
